Walk to Coire Mhic Fhearchair,
Ben Eighe,
from Glen Torridon
The path climbs from Glen Torridon through Coire Dubh . . .
. . . past lichen-art on pathside rocks . . .
. . . and slumbering rock-monsters . . .
. . . passing under the pinnacled buttresses of Liathach on the left . . .
. . . rounding the prow of Sail Mhor to expose the vast wilderness interior between Glen Torridon and Loch Maree . . .
. . . and climbing a Cyclopean staircase towards the lip of the corrie . . .
. . . until the Triple Buttress is suddenly revealed, towering 1000ft over the waters of a hidden loch . . .
To the north, the hills frame a distant prospect of Loch Maree . . .
. . . and the crags of Liathach fill the western sky . . .
The path returns along Coire Dubh with Liathach impersonating the Skye Coulin on the right . . .
. . . and the quartzite scree slopes of Ben Eighe on the left . . .
. . . to regain the road in Glen Torridon.
