Voyagers

Soaring higher on wings of fire and thunder,
Over the rim if the world and far beyond the moon,
Outward ever journeying
For knowledge ever yearning
The butterfly has shed her cocoon.

On, on, on, where no man has gone we are flying
Far from the realms of the sun, beyond the path of Mars,
By frozen planets sweeping
Our sensors never sleeping
Bearing your hopes to the stars.

Follow every starglow
Many worlds are yours to find
Follow us on beyond Earth's shadow -
Time to leave your childhood dreams behind.

Voyaging in we are leaving the sun for ever,
Sailing the seas of the night where the cold comets roam,
Silver starlight chasing
The solar wind outracing
Ten billion miles from home!

Who can say where some far day will find us?
Strange are the worlds that await the men who follow on.
Come, follow gladly!
Lament the past not sadly,
The cradle was made to be outgrown!

Follow every starglow
Many worlds are yours to find
Follow us on beyond Earth's shadow -
Time to leave your childhood dreams and

Follow every starglow
Many worlds are yours to find
Follow us on beyond Earth's shadow -
Time to leave your cradle-fears behind.
